{Skylee Nanette Kailing}

 Our little Skylee Nanette Kailing was born October 7, 2012 at 1:16 am. I really wanted to try for a VBAC so with the help of many doctors we decided that a planned slow induction was what we needed to do to get Skylee here safely. So we scheduled our induction day for October 6th, 2012. They called us that morning at 5:40 am and asked if we could be there by 6:30 am. So we headed in for the long haul. Because of my heart conditions and previous c-section we had to do the induction very slowly. When I got to the hospital I was only 1 cm dilated and about 40%...so we knew it was going to be a long day! We started with a Foley Bulb to thin and dilated me without any extra fluid or medication...by 1:30 that afternoon I was dilated to 3 cm and 80%. At this point my contractions were getting pretty strong and were about 2-3 min apart. Phase one of the process was complete and it was time to break my water, start internal monitoring of me and the baby and then get my epidural. Thankfully this time I only had to have one! :)
Our cute nurse drew this fun cupcake on our delivery room board. Here are a few pictures from the day. I was so blessed to have so much support, my mom, sister, and her girls came down from Kaysville, and Justin's mom were all there in and out throughout the day to check on us :)

My entertainment through out the day...

...Justin's entertainment though the long day

By 8 pm I was 6 cm dilated and still 80% thinned...at 10 pm I was at 7+ cm and 90% thinned. At midnight I was 9+ and finally around 12:40 am we were finally ready to start pushing! 1:16 am on October 7th, our beautiful baby girl was born 5 lbs 12 oz with lots of fun dark hair!! I feel so blessed that everything went so well. I know my Heavenly Father and Savior were giving me the comfort and strength that my body needed to be able to have a successful VBAC delivery. And to have no complications with my heart, I know is a miracle and blessing from my Father in Heaven. Justin and I both knew that our family wasn't complete after having Avenly and to see it come full circle and have such a wonderful pregnancy and delivery is more than we could ever ask for and gives us much hope for the future!! We couldn't be happier!! Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers throughout this journey. We have truly felt your love and support!

We couldn't be more in LOVE with this little girl

Av is an amazing big sister and loves her baby sister so much!

So many things to be grateful for!

But most of all right now I'm grateful I don't look like this...
(35 weeks with Av)
It is so crazy to me to look back at these photos and compare! I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father right now that I have been able to make it this far in this pregnancy and most of all that I haven't had any of the issues that I had last time. Granted I would go back and do it all again to get my Avenly, she is such a blessing in our lives and we love her so much! She is going to be the best big sister

...A few Favorites...

We had a few pictures done by tiffanyjane of our growing family. And I love the way they turned out!! I really wanted to get some maternity pictures this time around since I didn't get a chance the last time.  I had really wanted to when I was pregnant with Avenly, but by the time my belly was big enough I had also started getting pretty swollen from the pre-eclampsia...so needless to say I didn't really feel like paying someone to document it anymore. Even though this time around I still don't have the cutest pregnant body, I'm so happy we got a chance to get these! We are all so excited to meet this little girl!

 She loves to twirl these days :) it's so cute!

That's the genuine smile she gets when playing with Daddy!

 Doesn't get much cuter than this

SLACKER!

I have been such a slacker lately when it comes to this blog! Just some quick updates...I'm almost 33 weeks pregnant with our second baby girl...no she doesn't have a name yet. So far things are going fairly well. I will know more tomorrow after my next appointment where I will get the results back from my last tests. Justin is working as hard as ever at SunRiver and will soon be taking on the responsibility of managing a different community also, but this one will be all on his own!! Avenly is just her busy little self! She is super excited about becoming a big sister and loves to talk to baby sister through my belly button :) Sorry it's short and sweet but at least it's something

happy 3rd birthday baby girl

For the life of me I can't wrap my head around the fact that this little girl is 3!!! I know its cliche but it honestly seems like yesterday that we brought her home. Avenly you are so much fun, you bring so much joy to our lives and we can't imagine our lives without you! Happy birthday sweet baby girl!

blowing out the candles...sorry it's a little blurry it's from my phone and she was quicker than I expected
All day long you kept saying, "mom, I just can't wait to eat my cake." But really all you wanted to do was put your finger in the frosting! So as soon as we sang, "happy birthday" that's just what you did :)

The rainbow cake was fun turned out pretty good if I do say so myself

{2011 year in Review}

Although there wasn't anything super exciting that went on last year, I figured since I wasn't very great at blogging that I would do a year in review to help us remember what a wonderful year it was.
JANUARY & FEBRUARY: must have been pretty quiet since I can't remember anything and I have very few pictures, none of which are that exciting...
MARCH: Av turned 2 and got a new cousin, Sullivan, the next day. She LOVES her little buddy, Sully!

We also got the wonderful news from the Cardiologist that my heart is healthy and there is no signs that any ever happened with my heart and we have a "green light" if we feel like it is right to get pregnant again!!
APRIL: For Justin's birthday I borrowed some golf clubs from a friend and I surprised him with a day of golf together- he always wanted me to go with him but I hadn't had too much success the few times we had been...we had such a great time that I got me a new set of clubs for myself so now we can go more often! got to see the overflow by Gunlock

MAY: I got a job one day a week in St. George
JUNE: Justin's brother Sam came home from his mission. Went to The Little Mermaid at Tuachan with Hilary and Brian's family and LOVED it!
JULY: Justin and I went to Lake Powell with Justin's family - first time away from Av. Thanks Grandma Nanette for coming down to stay with Avenly. She had a great time at the splash park and found her new favorite thing to do - ride on the carousel!

AUGUST: We all drove to California in the motor home to see Justin's brother Matt and his wife Johnna go through the temple and get sealed as a family. We got to go see the sights in San Francisco.

Tom and Lynn's pool got finished and we spent what was left of the summer there. Av loved the water...just as long as it didn't get anywhere near her head :) Started Potty Training Av - she's done awesome....still wears a diaper at night but for the most part wakes up dry.

SEPTEMBER: Justin went to Alaska with his brother's TJ and Willy to hunt Caribou. Av learned to climb out of the crib so we converted it into a big girl toddler bed.
OCTOBER: Av was the cutest Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween - we made it a theme so Justin was the Hunter and I was the Big Bad Wolf
NOVEMBER: Had a great Thanksgiving with all of Justin's Family
DECEMBER: Av and I got to spend some time up north with my family. We had a great time making humanitarian kits for Christmas this year...I had my mom cut bangs... Av kinda grasped the concept of Christmas and Santa - she is still including Santa in most of her imaginary play, and loves to sing Jingle Bells and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (as seen in previous video :)

all in all it was a wonderful year, and we are excited for the new year to come
