{Skylee Nanette Kailing}

 Our little Skylee Nanette Kailing was born October 7, 2012 at 1:16 am. I really wanted to try for a VBAC so with the help of many doctors we decided that a planned slow induction was what we needed to do to get Skylee here safely. So we scheduled our induction day for October 6th, 2012. They called us that morning at 5:40 am and asked if we could be there by 6:30 am. So we headed in for the long haul. Because of my heart conditions and previous c-section we had to do the induction very slowly. When I got to the hospital I was only 1 cm dilated and about 40%...so we knew it was going to be a long day! We started with a Foley Bulb to thin and dilated me without any extra fluid or medication...by 1:30 that afternoon I was dilated to 3 cm and 80%. At this point my contractions were getting pretty strong and were about 2-3 min apart. Phase one of the process was complete and it was time to break my water, start internal monitoring of me and the baby and then get my epidural. Thankfully this time I only had to have one! :)
Our cute nurse drew this fun cupcake on our delivery room board. Here are a few pictures from the day. I was so blessed to have so much support, my mom, sister, and her girls came down from Kaysville, and Justin's mom were all there in and out throughout the day to check on us :)

By 8 pm I was 6 cm dilated and still 80% thinned...at 10 pm I was at 7+ cm and 90% thinned. At midnight I was 9+ and finally around 12:40 am we were finally ready to start pushing! 1:16 am on October 7th, our beautiful baby girl was born 5 lbs 12 oz with lots of fun dark hair!! I feel so blessed that everything went so well. I know my Heavenly Father and Savior were giving me the comfort and strength that my body needed to be able to have a successful VBAC delivery. And to have no complications with my heart, I know is a miracle and blessing from my Father in Heaven. Justin and I both knew that our family wasn't complete after having Avenly and to see it come full circle and have such a wonderful pregnancy and delivery is more than we could ever ask for and gives us much hope for the future!! We couldn't be happier!! Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers throughout this journey. We have truly felt your love and support!

We couldn't be more in LOVE with this little girl

Av is an amazing big sister and loves her baby sister so much!

So many things to be grateful for!

But most of all right now I'm grateful I don't look like this...
(35 weeks with Av)
It is so crazy to me to look back at these photos and compare! I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father right now that I have been able to make it this far in this pregnancy and most of all that I haven't had any of the issues that I had last time. Granted I would go back and do it all again to get my Avenly, she is such a blessing in our lives and we love her so much! She is going to be the best big sister
