This year's christmas tree. We finally got a star on top...Av insisted!

I made a little Christmas tree and ornaments out of felt and stuck it on the fridge so Av could decorate her own tree over and over...however most of the time she just played with the ornaments stacking them on top of each other to create "sandwiches"

Christmas Eve over at the Packers. It's tradition to have clam chowder in bread bowls, open PJ's and then read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas followed by Luke 2 and family prayer.

Since Christmas was on a Sunday this year, right after we came down to see if Santa came, we rushed to get ready for 9 o'clock church :)

After Church we headed over to the Packer's to open presents...Av loved opening presents and thought everyone else would like her help in opening theirs :)

We had a wonderful Christmas full of lots of fun and time with family! We have been so blessed this past year and look forward to the new year to come!!

FIRST HAIRCUT

Grandma Nanette gave Av her first haircut on June 2, 2011. I had been so worried about cutting Avenly's hair, for fear we would lose her curls. But her hair was starting to get tangled at the ends and Av hated having me brush it...I hoped a haircut would help...it didn't change things too much though :( I think I need a good de-tangler...any suggestions out there? All in all she did pretty good for my mom, and no tears, and we still have the same amount of curl as we did before the haircut - even better!! :)

Dear Miss Avenly

I can't believe you have been part of our lives for 2 whole years! And yet, in the same breath I can't imagine our lives without you. You bring so much joy to our lives and we love having your sweet little spirit in our home. However, as sweet as you are, you can be as equally...let's say 'spicy' ... You are teaching your mommy and daddy so much about how to be patient. But we must not be learning it, because you try to teach us again everyday! :) But we know that we are so blessed that you chose to come to us, and we know you will do great things here on this earth. You have such a fun personality and you make us laugh everyday.

We love you so much!!

You are incredibly independent, and very smart....at 2 years old you...

*know all of the colors and most of the shapes

*You can count to 10

*You recognize most of the letters in the alphabet, in any order

*You are always talking. You talk in complete sentences, and are a great communicator, most of the time that is, unless you are upset and then I have to remind you to use your words (instead of screaming :)

*You love to uses the phrases we say to you...like "mommy look at me" (when I'm not paying attention to her) or "don't swollow it" (when we are chewing gum) "chew it up good momma" (when we are eating) and "don't squeak (squeeze) it" - when I give her a juice box, and also "mommy be nice"

*You love shoes and you are always putting on mommy's or daddys.

*You are just now starting to sing. You have always ask us to sing songs, but now you are starting to sing them by yourself. The week before your birthday you learned how to sing the happy birthday song and you sang it almost everyday. Then you would hold up 2 fingers and say, "I'm 2!"

*You still love water and to be outside. You would go for a walk everyday if you could. You love to jump on the bed and hide under the covers. You love books, movies, and anything that has to do with Elmo. You love bubbles, your tiger, and your baby. You will be the best mommy some day. You are so sweet to your baby, you love to take her for walks, feed her and even change her diaper. However you have been blaming your baby for things you've done that you know you shouldn't :)

*You loved your binky. I say loved because it "broke" about a week before your birthday. But I'm sure you would still love it if you had it. I cut a little hole in it and when you noticed it you told me, "I don't like this one, it's broken." so I asked you if you wanted to throw it away. You said yes, so you threw it in the garbage. It has been a hard adjustment for you. You still ask for it quite often and when I remind you that it was broken so you threw it away you say, ok, and thats it. But you have a hard time settling down to sleep at nap time and night time. Hopefully things keep getting better.

*You love to dance whenever there is music on...and it is the cutest thing ever. You get your hands up, bounce and shake your little hips. When we get in the car you say, "mommy music on" then you tell us, "mommy, daddy, dance" she has to make sure everyone is involved if one of us isn't dancing you won't leave us alone until we do.

*You are still my little peanut. Your 2 year old stats are:

*You are a great eater! You especially love fruits and vegetables (the girl who watches you, Miss Jen, is a vegetarian) You also love noodles, cereal, and of course candy.

*You love your family. Mommy, daddy, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma's and especially your papa's.

*You love Jesus. You point Him out in all the pictures and I know you know who He is and that He loves you by the look on your face. You say the cutest little prayers, it is usually, "Heavenly Father, thank you for day. Name of Jesus Christ, Amen" (without help)

*You give the best hugs and kisses, when you want to. Usually you aren't super affectionate but when you are it melts our hearts.

*You are usually very polite. You always say Thank you. Please has been a little bit harder but we can usually get it out of you and when you say it you also still sign it. (that's about the only sign you still use). And you will say "excuse me" when you burp or need to get by someone.

We love you more and more everyday! Happy birthday sweet baby girl!!

Av isn't usually too happy when i wake her up from her first nap, so this time I decided I would wake her up by asking her if she wanted to help me make cookies. She woke right up with a huge smile on her face she was so excited!

here's a few fun pictures of Avenly...we can't believe how big she is getting, how long her hair is, and how much she talks!! she loves to have her picture taken, if you can't tell, every time we pull out the camera she yells, "cheese!" she is so much fun and very challenging also. But we learn so much every day from her and know we are so blessed to have this crazy little girl in our lives!

Christmas at the Jones'

Christmas this year was at my mom and dad's up in Kaysville. I love being able to get together with all of my family at this special time of year. This year we did one of Justin's family traditions with my family...the trap! When Jut was growing up he and his brothers would have to get through a trap on christmas morning with out setting it off in order to open presents right away. If they set off the trap, which they did most years, then they would have to wait until after breakfast, and pictures and other things to open presents. Since most of my family lives in Kaysville, it was only my brother's kids who where in from Tuscan who got to experience the trap this year. I'm not sure if you can tell, but there is fishing line strung back and forth up the stairs that was attached at the bottom to a bucket full of dominoes, so if you bumped the string too much the dominoes would all come tumbling down - making a loud noise indicating that they had set off the trap. Dylan made it through too fast that we didin't even get a picture.

This year for Halloween Av was a rainbow trout...She still doesn't quite have a grasp on Halloween but she sure caught on quick to candy! and boy was she on a sugar high that night!! she couldn't get enough. We just did a real quick walk around the ward Trunk or Treat and then hung out at Grandma and Grandpa Packers to help hand out candy, but I think Av ate more candy then she handed out. I had a fun time making her costume and I think it turned out pretty cute

We took a 3 hour drive on back roads (Arizona Strip) all the way to the Grand Canyon. We thought it was only going to take about 2 hours, so about an hour and a half into the drive I'm trying to keep Av awake so she doesn't fall asleep right before we get there and then have to wake her up...turns out I had to keep her awake for a whole lot longer than I planned. Then once we finally got there, it started to get really windy then came the thunder and lightening. Needless to say (if you can't tell by the look on her face in the picture above) Avenly didn't like it much! I'm sure it didn't help that she was completely exhausted. It was an adventure anyway, and it was nice just to get out and do something different as a family :)

Justin and I bought a bunch of fresh peaches, most of which we've eaten, some I've frozen for smoothies, and the rest I decided to make freezer jam with. So while I'm busy in the kitchen Av decides she really wants to go for a walk, I mean really wants to go. She's crying hysterically pointing at the closet that we keep the stroller in, "walk, walk" she says over and over. So finally I told her she could take her baby for a walk around the house. We strap her baby in and I go back to making jam. Next thing I know she's back in the kitchen getting into cupboards and drawers, which she does all the time so I don't pay much attention to it. Once I'm finished and I can finally give Av my full attention I find her taking much more than just her baby for a walk :) silly girl...at least she kept herself entertained!

I think it's safe to say, she's walking. Over the last few weeks Av has gotten more brave, taking more and more steps each day. Now, she rarely ever crawls!! She is also learning some sign language. Since she doesn't talk very much, I decided I had to be able to communicate with her somehow! She has caught on really quick, and pretty much always uses the signs correctly. One year olds are definitely fun, but also very challenging. Avenly knows what she wants and certainly has an opinion on just about everything, but the lack of words right now makes things frustrating for her. So I think she really likes to be able to sign some things...and so do I!

5, 6, and 7 Months

Wow, I'm a terrible mom! My baby is 8 months old today and I haven't done her monthly milestone update since she was 4 months old! So since I'm sitting in a hospital room, hoping so badly that Justin will start to feel better...I figured I could pass the time trying to think back over the last 3 months to remember what our little Av was doing...it's more difficult than I thought! It's amazing how fast the time flies!

5 Months:

Does tummy time really well, and is getting very strong.
She is still only rolling from her tummy to her back...and it is very rare!
Sitting up really well in her Bumbo, and for a few minutes by herself.
Makes a lot of talking noises, but we can't pick out anything remotely close to ma, ma or da, da...we talk to her and tell her to say ma, ma or da, da, but she just laughs.
Starting to hate her car seat.
LOVES to laugh and giggle at Dad and Mom.
Always putting her fingers in her mouth, and chewing on everything like crazy still, but no teeth.
Still rubs her face and eyes when she is tired.
Loves the silky side of her blankets and needs it to have it next to her face to go to sleep.
Happy, smiley baby.
She moves her whole body when she gets really excited.
Still sleeping through the night but is having a really hard time with rice cereal so her tummy will wake her up.
Likes playing with her toys and is starting to realize they make noises when she shakes them.
Went to the pool for the first and only time this summer.
She will no longer snuggle, cuddle, or fall asleep in our arms :( so sad!

6 Months:

Sitting up all by herself, hates tipping over - so she hardly ever does; getting good at reaching for toys.
Still won't roll from back to belly, and can roll from her belly to her back - although she never does.
Wants to hold her bottle by herself so bad.
LOVES to look at, and read books.
Always wants to be standing.
Loves to jabber.
Stopped eating rice cereal because it was too hard to digest.
Did I mention she LOVES to be on her feet! .... all the time!
Still falls asleep a lot in the car and on walks, still taking 3 or 4, (1-2hr.) naps a day and sleeping through the night - what can I say, she needs her beauty sleep! it's working for her too, she is a beautiful baby!
Her 6 month well check stats are: weight - 13 lbs. 1 oz. (6th percentile); height - 23 and 3/4 in. (5th percentile) and her head...I believe was in the 15th percentile
Sitting up in her bath - loves to splash!
Arches her back when we put her in her car seat.
Loves to give mommy and daddy kisses.
She has found mom's hair and is always playing with it - mostly pulling
Such a fun, happy baby.

7 Months:

Thinks it's fun to dance with daddy.
Still refuses to roll over! She will roll from side to side, just not all the way over.
Sits up really well. She basically folds herself in half to reach for the toy she wants and usually she can get back up on her own.
Still likes to be swaddled to sleep, but hardly ever stays in her blanket all night - by morning she is all unwrapped and up in the corner of her crib.
Weighs 14 lbs. - we had to go in the doctor for a quick check
We decided we would start fruits...she LOVES peaches! But not just baby food peaches but Grandma Nanette's bottled peaches!!
She wants real food so bad! She is always watching mom and dad eat.
Still chewing and drooling on everything! but again...still no teeth to show for it.
She is very ticklish, and laughs harder at the anticipation of the tickle than the actual tickling
We love her funny little personality!!
If her tummy isn't bothering her she is ALWAYS a happy baby!!

Last night we had our ward Halloween party. I wasn't able to get a picture of Av in her whole costume, I got her dressed this much to drive over and she fell asleep! And for the first time in our marriage, Justin finally carved a pumpkin, it turned out awesome....I did carve the teeth though :)

Avie loves her Daddy. It's been so fun to watch Justin and Avenly interact. You can tell she just loves her dad, her eyes light up and she gets the biggest smile on her face whenever dad walks in the room! She will just sit and watch him waiting for him to look at her, and then when he does she gets so excited. I think she knows she already has him wrapped around her little finger!

(this is the reason for not posting in forever) We finally got our new laptop a week ago...we decided to go with a Mac, so I'm still trying to figure everything out. 4 Months

Avenly is getting so strong, she's rolling over from her tummy to her back. I'm pretty sure, judging by the look of surprise on her face, that she still doesn't mean to do it. At her 4 month appointment, which was forever ago sorry, she was 10 lbs. 14 oz. and 22 3/4 inches (5th percentile all around). She is super happy and has the cutest smile. She is just starting to giggle a little and most of the time it just sounds like a cough. She loves to talk to her daddy when he comes home and still saves the best smiles for him! She is definitely teething, she always has her hands in her mouth and drooling everywhere. She is a great baby and I'm so thrilled I get to be her mommy!

I know, I know...I should have posted these like 2 months ago. But to my defense they were on my mom's camera, and I just barely downloaded them to my photobucket. Can I just say my mom is amazing and so talented!! She made this beautiful blessing dress for Avenly. I had seen one very similar on a website but it was priced at like $270, and I knew my mom could figure out how to make one just about the same...and she did, only better because it was made with love! We blessed Avie on May 3rd. It was a very special and beautiful day, Justin did awesome! I know he was super nervous. We were so lucky to have family come all the way here to support us! We know Avenly has a special spirit and we are so glad to have her in our family!

Trying to get a picture of Avenly smiling is a lot harder than I thought it would be! She is smiling all the time now, but once you get the camera out she focuses on the light of the camera instead of the person trying to make her smile! She is so much fun. It's so neat to see her grow and develop. I think it's pretty safe to say she is sleeping through the night now!! yeah! She's got pretty good control over her head now and she loves to look around. Her awake and sleep times are much more defined, and you can tell when she is tired because around her little eyes gets bright red. She has officially grown out of her newborn clothes so it's been much more fun to dress her in all of her cute outfits! I don't have any stats as far as weight or length since we don't go to the doctor again until 4 months, but that's just around the corner!

Once again beautiful pictures from Alisha! I can't wait to get the rest of them!! I really can't believe she is two months old, I know I said that last month and I will probably keep saying it every month, it all goes by too fast! So here's Avie's 2 month stats...

Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz. (5th %) ... I was in shock!

Height: 21 inches (10th %)

she is becoming more and more alert, she is starting to follow us with her eyes and she loves to look at her mobile on her swing - we love to see her pretty blue eyes

she still loves her bath, although she doesn't like to be naked outside the water and she hates to have lotion put on

she is starting to get the hang of smiling, and daddy got the first one

she has the prettiest long eyelashes but they are still very light so they are hard to see
she has found her tongue and she is always sticking it in and out
she still loves her tummy time, especially when her tummy hurts
she is so long that her newborn jammies are starting to be too short and the 0-3 mon jammies from The Children's Place are fitting just right in the length!!
she wakes up usually just once in the night now around 3 or 4 but thankfully she goes back to sleep pretty good now (which is a blessing since I'm back to work)
I love the little half smiles she still does in her sleep, and the facial expressions are getting funnier
she has been quite the little traveler this past month going up to Salt Lake with me twice for my Dr's appointments - she slept pretty much the whole way
she grew out of her first bracelet (the tiny pearl one) her blessing day was the last day she wore it because it was starting to leave little indentations on her wrist

Avenly is such a blessing in our lives, she brings so much happiness, joy and peace to our home

One Month Update

I can't believe Avenly is one month old! Well, actually, I'm a little late getting to this post so she is now almost 5wks. She is growing so much and changing everyday! The process of being a new parents has been tough, enjoyable and rewarding. I still have a hard time believing we made something so perfect and beautiful. She is really a pretty good baby, although right now she has her days and nights a little mixed up which makes things a little more tiring for me. So here are a few stats:

Weight: At her 3wk check up she was 5lbs. 14oz. so my guess is that by now she is well over 6lbs!
Length: 19 1/2 in.
She enjoys her tummy time and is holding her head up for about 3-4 secs.
First outing was to Pizza Factory with Phil, Tiff and cousin Jane
Loves to be wide awake at 2 a.m.
She makes the funniest little expressions...no doubt she got the face making from her dad :)
She makes funny grunting noises all day and all night (I think this is probably because she has such a hard time pooping)
She loves to hear her daddy's voice
Loves her bath and especially loves to have her hair washed
She has the cutest cheeks you can't help but kiss
She makes us fall more and more in love with her everyday!

Well, here goes, I wanted to write down the story of my whole ordeal, mostly for my keeping. It will most likely be very long so if you don't want to read it all, I totally understand.

I had been borderline mild pre-eclamptic throughout most of my 3rd trimester so on Thursday March 12, (35 wks. and 5 days) I decided to just drop in at my OB office and have them check my blood pressure. The swelling was getting worse everywhere and I knew we would be heading up to Salt Lake for a baby shower from Justin's side of the family, so I wanted to make sure I was okay to go. They took my blood pressure, it was elevated a little more than even it had been over the past few weeks, my doctor was at the hospital in a delivery so his partner ordered a 24 hr. urine test to check for protein and a non-stress test. The baby was doing well throughout the test and after talking to my doctor he gave me the okay to go up for the shower as long as my activities were very limited. He also told me that I was going to have to be on bed rest when I came back and that we would get me to 37 wks and then induce. I was full of so many emotions at that point, I told Justin I was so scared and nervous to be induced in a little over a week, but I was almost more scared to not be induced and have to go through 3-4 more weeks in such an uncomfortable state. We went to Salt Lake and enjoyed our baby shower, thank you everyone it was wonderful! On Monday March 16th, even though I was supposed to be on bed rest I went to work because I was supposed to train Jenna, the new hygienist at my work. I worked all day and went to my appointment that evening. My doctor checked me and I was barely 1cm dilated and about 50% thinned. My blood pressure was getting higher and the swelling was getting even worse...but I had come to terms with being induced in a week. Well at this appointment my doctor was really worried about me and so he tells me he wants me to go to the hospital for some lab work and then wait for the results in Labor and Delivery. If the results are okay he'll send me home and have me do another 24 hr. urine test, if not, then they will admit me and start inducing a 1 am! Now I'm really nervous! So we did the lab work and I was admitted at about 9:30 that night. So at 1 am they started giving me the medication to help soften and thin the cervix. That continues through the morning, and about 2 o'clock in the afternoon I was still only dilated to 1cm but was now 70% thin. At around 4:30 my doctor checked me again and I was dilated to almost 2cm. He broke my water and I went to almost 3cm. At about 5 pm I was dilated to 4cm and they started the pitocin. The contractions started coming 2 at a time. I would have 2 strong ones right in a row and then go about 6 min without anything. Finally at about 7:30 pm I decided I wanted the epidural...the anesthesiologist came in to get started. 4 shots later I was finally all the way numb. Because of all the severe swelling, my back was so swollen too that it was difficult to see or feel where he needed to be. The first 2 epidurals went in blood vessels, and the third one only got the right half of me numb. After having a blessing we did the 4th epidural and finally I was completely numb. This put us at about 10 o'clock at night on March 17th. At around 11:00 my body wasn't progressing past 4cm and the baby was starting to be in distress, so my doctor tells me we need to do an emergency c-section. Luckily I was numb enough from the epidural that they didn't have to put me out completely and at 12:01 am on March 18th we got our beautiful baby girl! She was perfect, she didn't need any oxygen or anything. We are so blessed that she was so healthy. We stayed in the hospital until Sunday March 22nd. We were so excited to finally go home and be a family!

That night however was one of the worst nights of my life. I started feeling like it I couldn't catch my breath. I just figured it was due to the fact that I had just had a baby by c-section and had been in a hospital bed for 6 days. But it continued to get worse as the night went on. Our bishop came over that night to check on us and I asked if he and Justin could give me a blessing. I continued to have a lot of difficulty breathing and it got harder when I would try to lay down...I knew I had an appointment at my OB office the next day so I made it through the night sleeping in the rocking chair. At my appointment the next day, Monday, March 23rd, I mentioned it to my doctor and he listened to my lungs, said they sounded pretty clear but when he saw how hard it was for me when I laid down he sent me over to ER to have a chest x-ray to check for fluid. So in the ER I had a chest x-ray, and EKG, and CT scan, and blood work. Based on the results of all these tests they admitted me to ICU where they did an Echo on my heart. They told me I have congestive heart failure and peripartum cardiomyopathy. Basically this means my heart was unable to fill and pump blood efficiently enough so it wasn't getting rid of the excess fluid I built up with the pre-eclampsia, so fluid was backing up in my lungs and around my heart. And because my heart was trying to work so hard to get rid of the fluid my heart muscle became enlarged. So I was put on medication for high blood pressure and to help my heart pump more efficiently as well as a diuretic to help my body eliminate excess fluid. In my 3 days in ICU I lost about 13 liters of fluid and nearly 30 lbs! I have responded very well to the medications and I'm feeling a lot better. I'm seeing the cardiologist regularly now and although he expects that I will make almost, if not, a full recovery, he is not optimistic for future pregnancies. He says with subsequent pregnancies this condition will mostly likely return and there is a 50% mortality rate for me. So we are counting our many blessings that we have this beautiful and healthy baby girl and that I'm here to enjoy her! Thank you so much to everyone, for your fasting and prayers on our behalf. I have truly felt your love and I know that your prayers have been answered according to our Heavenly Father's plan for me and my family. All I have ever wanted since I was a little girl was to be a mother, and now I have a little miracle for a daughter!

Sorry not the greatest picture, I took it of myself with the camera timer. But here I am last week at 29 weeks. We went to the doctor for my 30 week appointment and everything is looking good. She is head down and weighs about 3 pounds now. She is very camera shy...the closest we could get to seeing her face was her ear, but we go again on the 12th of Feb. and the doctor said we could do another ultrasound to see if we can get some pictures!

So originally I just assumed we would paint to walls in the nursery, the wall color we have isn't what you would typically pick for a baby's room, and I didn't think we would be able to find bedding that would match. Well, the more and more I looked at bedding, I couldn't find any that I really liked, so my mom and my sister are being so sweet and are going to make my bedding and these are the fabrics that we picked out. Justin and I were still planning on painting the room, but we were having a hard time agreeing on a color. So after we put the crib up I threw the fabric swatches in the crib and realized that the yellow in the fabric is really close to the color on our walls...so the questions stands...to paint or not to paint the room?? any suggestions?

For Christmas I got a sewing machine, and this is one of my first projects! It didn't turn out as perfect as I wanted it to, but for my first try on a new sewing machine, all by myself (ok I had a little help from my mother-in-law, Lynn, over the phone) I guess it turned out just fine. I hope it becomes her favorite blanket.

Girl!! At my last OB appointment at 16wks we found out that we are having a little girl! We weren't supposed to find out at this appointment, but once again my doctor is really nice and Justin is a really good talker! :) As we were finishing up my regular OB checkup, my doctor says, "we'll get you back in about 3-4 weeks and at that time we'll do your target ultrasound and be able to find out if it's a boy or a girl." Justin knowing before hand that we probably weren't finding out at this appointment had a plan for how he was going to get the doctor to do an ultrasound at this appointment and not have to wait. So Justin says, "Really?? oh, I totally thought it was today! I've been reading all those pregnacy books with my wife and it says you can tell right now if it's a boy or a girl." My doctor being super sweet says, "you know what? I bet we can get the girls to set up the ultrasound real fast and we'll take a quick look and see if we can find out." So we did the ultrasound, and at first she was being modest and trying to cover up, but eventually we were able to get a good view and sure enough it's a girl! We are really excited, but a little stuck on names...any ideas??

Bryce Canyon

For my birthday Justin and I went up to Ruby's Inn and Bryce Canyon. This time we stayed the night at Ruby's and got to drive through Bryce Canyon National Park. Justin is doing a big project on Ruby's Inn for school and was able to get us a great deal on one of their suite's which is normally like $200 a night and we got it for $39.99...he's a pretty good talker! This isn't the greatest picture of my growing belly but I am 17wks in this picture.

So I've decided I'm really not very good at this whole blogging thing. Every time I try to do a post, I just end up looking at everyone elses blogs and thinking how cute they are and how I wish I could be as good as them at staying up to date with my blog. I guess sometimes I just feel like my life isn't exciting enough to display to the world. But there is one exciting thing that has happened to us! Most of you probably already know, but I guess I will finally make it official...Justin and I are having a baby!! We are both so excited to become parents! We have been so blessed to have had such good examples of great parents in our lives, that we are thrilled, and of course nervous, to become parents ourselves. This week starts my 14th week and the beginning of my second trimester. I feel even more blessed to have made it this far after the miscarriage last time. Thank you all again for the love and support! I will try to be better about keeping this thing updated as the baby and I grow! :) For now all I have is just this one ulrasound picture of the baby at around 10 wks...

It was so much fun to go to my 10 wk appointment! Since I miscarried last time my OB wanted to see me at 6wks and then again at 10wks this time. At our second appointment he was so nice and gave us a quick ultrasound "on the house," so that we could see the baby moving and hear the heartbeat (which was Justin's favorite part), because my doctor knew how nervous I was going into this second pregancy. We couldn't be more thrilled to have this little one join our family!

Justin and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on July 19th. Wow! Kind of crazy. Time goes by so fast. It's amazing how our love has grown so much over the last 5 years, you think back to the day you were married and you think you loved each other so much then...but it doesn't even compare to now! Every day it grows more and more through the good times and the tough times and because of those times it gets stronger. We didn't have a whole lot of time or money this year so we just started driving, we ended up going to Duck Creek Days and then kept driving up to Bryce Canyon where we had dinner at the famous Ruby's Inn. It was so nice to just have the day to spend together! I love you Jut!!

For Justin's family camping trip this year we went to Yuba Lake. We decided it would be fun this year to do more of a boating trip. We all had a great time with the wake boards and the tubes. I couldn't get in the water because I had eye surgery like 2 days before this, so I could ride in the boat as long as I put drops in my eyes every ten minutes and kept my sunnies on!

The Big Wheel Race

Justin had this great idea that when all the borthers got together for his graduation that they would have this big wheel race. So of course he got everyone excieted and commited. Next comes all the planning and the rules...Jut and I went out driving one day to find the perfect hill for the race, we start driving up this steep mountain road with lots of turns...and the whole time Justin is saying, "this is great, it will be perfect..." one mile passes, and I say, "ok this looks like a good place to start" but Jut keeps on going, so two miles pass, and then three miles...finally at 3.8 miles Justin stops and is satisfied. He wanted to make usre the race wasn't over too quick...needless to say the first big wheel fell apart maybe 30 feet from the starting line, and the rest shortly there after...TJ made it the farthest, but I think Sam got going the fastest. Tom and Lynn were in the front of the race with the car and I thin kthey said they were going 35 mph and he was coming up on them. Each one of them were bound and determined to win, they were holding the wheels onto their bikes with their hands trying to get just a little bit further. It was a pretty funny sight, but since I was following the race in the truck picking up each of them one by one as their big wheels wouldn't stay together any more I wasn't able to get any pictures of the actual race so these ones will have to do.

Graduation/Birthday

Since Jax and Justin's birthdays were so close to Justin's graduation we decided it would be fun to celebrate them all together. So after Justin's graduation we went to our clubhouse and had lunch, presents, and cake and ice cream.

Justin graduated from Southern Utah University on May 3, 2008 with his Bachelors of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Buisness. He worked so hard and I am so proud of him! Thank you to all our family who came out to support him!

I honestly never thought in a million years that this would ever happen to me. It all started on Thursday and by Saturday afternoon my baby was gone. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life. It broke my heart to go into the room usually meant for happy things, like finding out that you are pregnant, or finding out what you are having, so the ultrasound projection on the wall is all nicely framed to display the good news, only to have the unexplainable feeling of seeing the little gestational sac on the ultrasound screen and to have someone tell you they can't see a heartbeat and that you are experiencing a miscarriage. I was 8 weeks along but the baby only measured at about 5 and a half weeks, he explained to me that I had a missed miscarriage. Meaning I should have miscarried three weeks ago but the placenta that produces the pregnancy hormone kept telling my body that I was still pregnant, and only now was my body starting to realize that the baby wasn't growing and developing. So, the doctor gave me some medication to help me pass everything, I really didn't know what to expect. Not only is the physical pain unbearable but emotionally and mentally it is draining as well. I was lucky enough to have lots of family around, my mom came for Justin's graduation as well as all of his family. I can't thank them all enough for helping me through this hard time. I have really appreciated all the love, concern and prayers in our behalf. What a blessing family is.

Two Pink Lines

Yep, that's right this time there were two pink lines instead of just one!! It was April 2nd, I was only about 2 days late and even though I was anxious, I really didn't want to take a pregnancy test. I was tired of the disappointment every month, so this time I thought I would just be patient and give it a few more days before I took one. Well, Justin couldn't wait so that night he kept saying to me, "just go take it." Finally after all my excusses failed (ie. I don't have to go to the bathroom yet... it's better to take it in the morning, etc...) I gave in and took it, but there was no way I was going to be the one to look at it. So after I took it, I threw it on the counter and told Jut I wasn't going to look at it. So he pick's it up and starts in with all these questions like, "so...how long do you have to wait for the results?"....umm, it says to wait 3 mins. "so...how long has it been?" ....umm I don't know like a minute or two. "OK, well... does it start off with any lines?" ...umm no, but if there is only one line right now then another one isn't going to just appear in a minute, it's already negative.... "so...two lines means you're pregnant...and one line means you're not?"...yeah...it's negative isn't it!? (almost in tears) So he says to me, "just come over here and give me a hug and kiss" Me still thinking it's negative, on the verge of tears, I walk over to him and he turns over the test to show me the two pink lines!! It's probably a little early to be telling everyone that we're pregnant, but we were both so excited. Besides pretty much anyone who actually visits my blog already knows anyway. We are only about 6 weeks along so that puts the due date at about Dec. 10th.

Jackson Hole Memorial

On March 29th Justin, Matt, and I met up with Brent's sister Sandy, her husband Sam and their son Ross; Brent's sister Linda and her husband Don as well as with Jeri and her children in Jackson Hole. Brent and the Boys had a wonderful fishing trip up there one year and they were all planning on going again. Since they hadn't had the chance to go back, when Brent passed away they thought it would be fitting to go up to Jackson Hole to spread his ashes. It was freezing, but we found the perfect spot to pay our respects and it turned out really well.

Justin and I went ice fishing at Otter Creek with TJ, Willy, Rikki, and a few of their friends. I didn't catch anything, but Justin caught 2 and I think Rikki caught like 5. Anyway, we all had a good time despite the freezing cold.
